Are the Madhubani paintings originals or prints?
Originals. Every Madhubani and Godna piece is drawn and painted by hand on handmade paper. We do not sell prints or reproductions of any kind.
Do the paintings come framed?
No — they ship unframed and rolled. That keeps freight low, removes the risk of broken glass in transit, and lets you frame the work to suit your own market and room.
What is the difference between Kachni, Bharni and Godna?
Three styles within the Mithila tradition. Kachni is fine hatched line work with little or no filled colour. Bharni outlines the figure then floods it with solid colour. Godna derives from tattoo patterns and is worked in dense repeated line — the rarest of the three.
What does GI-tagged mean?
Geographical Indication is a legal protection recognising that a craft belongs to a specific place and community. The Bobbili Veena carries GI status, which means it can only be called that if it is made in Bobbili, Andhra Pradesh, by the traditional method.
Why is no Dhokra piece identical?
Dhokra is lost-wax casting. A wax model is built over a clay core and encased in more clay. When the metal is poured the wax burns away, and the mould has to be broken open to release the casting. The mould is destroyed every time, so the piece cannot be repeated exactly.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, by air from Mumbai. Retail orders go through our Etsy shop with free delivery. Wholesale is quoted FCA Mumbai Airport, with delivered pricing on request.
What are your minimum order quantities?
From 5 pieces on the large paintings, 10 on the smaller sizes and the Veenas, and 25 on brass. Designs can be mixed within a size.
Can I order a sample first?
Yes, and we recommend it. We supply the sample at our cost and you cover freight. The sample cost is credited against a subsequent confirmed order.
Are you a registered exporter?
Yes. Jaggo Earthroots is a brand of Jaggo Bharat, registered in Mumbai. GSTIN 27ACYPH9322G1Z5, IEC ACYPH9322G. Both certificates can be shared for vendor onboarding.
